I am an integrative psychotherapist; integrating interventions from the Psychodynamic, Humanistic and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and Mindfulness approaches.
I aim to build a therapeutic relationship, sustain a working alliance and work with clients to break through the challenges they are faced with. I believe the therapeutic relationship is the most important aspect of therapy and I base my relationships with clients on collaboration, trust and partnership. I am passionate about my work and strongly believe that therapy can allow one to begin to make sense of overwhelming feelings, thoughts and behaviours.
As an integrative practitioner I have researched and worked with various models and approaches over the years and have found a holistic therapeutic process increases the success rate of managing and resolving emotional difficulties. My approach looks at the past, present and future, and therapy offered is tailored to your unique experiences and needs. I interwind mindfulness into my approach as I feel having an awareness and being in tune with your mind and body is a good navigation system to resolving unwanted feelings and thoughts. It is not always easy to talk about difficulties and to look at issues that cause pain. I provide a caring, calm and confidential space to talk about issues important to you. By building a trusting relationship and working collaboratively we can gain insights and awareness to the root of your problems.
My practise is underpinned by principles that are based on compassion, trust and, a non-judgemental attitude. I am dedicated in helping you each step of the way. I believe in empowering my clients with knowledge and skills that will help increase their awareness, sense of worth, self-love and in turn stimulate positive growth and change. A journey of self-discovery can be enlightening, healing and empowering, so take the steps to a better quality of life. I understand how daunting therapy can be especially for first timers. I offer a pre-therapy telephone consultation to address any questions or concerns regarding therapy.
