What to do when you feel like ‘I don’t know what to do’.
Life can be confusing enough, it becomes more difficult when you start to feel ‘stuck’. You’ll start to ask people for help but no matter what anyone says, you still feel stuck and the suggestions offered to you don’t work.
You’ll experience thoughts such as ‘I don’t know what to do’, ‘what am I supposed to do’. This process of feeling stuck generally happens when your critical thinking is on pause. When we don’t think through things and work out what our own thoughts and feelings are, we tend to start feeling stuck.
So you’ll be thinking ‘what do I do?’ A few ways of dealing with this ‘stuckness’ is to:
Acknowledge that you’re feeling this way and that it’s okay.
Secondly, think through the situation and to form your own opinion on what you think about the situation.
Lastly, it seems obvious but when you’re caught up with situations, it can be harder to see things because the feelings are so intense. If you find there is nothing you can do, work through the feelings, whatever they may be.
You have feelings for a reason. By slowly working on accepting the situation: you can begin to understand that you don’t have to like it.
